We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again, running a successful Airbnb or any short term rental is all about marketing. The number one way to grow your “brand” as a sought out destination is through an Instagram account. Cherry on top, it provides FREE marketing and content by having your guests take great pictures of their stay.
3 Easy steps to a successful Instagram account:
A catchy name:
Name your rental with something that describes what it is, and is easy to remember – short and sweet. Incorporate the name BOTH into your instagram handle, as well as a hashtag, so other people (guests) can tag their pictures as well.
Professional (Looking) Pictures:
What vibe does your rental effuse? Is it super modern, rustic, or California beachy? Whatever it is, the vibe should be reflected in all of your pictures. And, they should be well lit so that even darker corners of your home look airy and inviting. You can’t always get enough natural light to come through in a picture, but even an iPhone has amazing editing capabilities these days to help you achieve a better picture.
Maintaining a professional instagram account can be pretty time consuming. But posting consistently (ideally once a day but at least every other day) will absolutely help you get and keep followers, and grow your online presence organically. This is where guest pictures come in – scroll through that hashtag you created, and repost the best pictures. Keep a stockpile of your own pictures as well, so you always have fresh content.
Having a presence on social media will help potential renters find you, and help you stand out from the competition in your area. Have you started an Instagram account for your rental, and how is it going? Tell us in the comments!
