Let’s talk about that sexy little spot called the bathroom today. This is the spot where well thought-out details are going to take your rental to the next level. It helps to think of the stereotypical hotel amenities – mini shampoo bottles, anyone?
There’s nothing more stressful than realizing you forgot something on a trip, and often the thing we forget is a toiletry – toothpaste, shampoo, maybe cotton balls (I always forget cotton balls!). As a host, your job is to anticipate the potential needs of your guests and have them covered.
I often hear concerns that extra supplies may be stolen, or that the cost of suppling these things is too high. I totally get that it is no fun to spend money on something that is supposed to be making you money. But the truth is that investing in the right areas will pay you back!

The next element for a five star guest experience is a surplus of fluffy white towels. White towels are perfect because they can be bleached, and looking brand new for every new guest. Just make sure you have plenty of towels – at least two for every person your rental sleeps.

But finally, cleanliness is the MOST important factor here. It seems to obvious to even say, but that’s how important it is. No guest wants to feel that they are in someone else’s space. Especially a space that holds so many germy germs. Side note and a bit less obvious – make sure every sink is draining well. Nothing reminds you of NOT being on vacation like dealing with a slow drain.
What are some ways that you make the bathroom ready for guests? Do you like the idea of providing mini toiletries or do you worry about the cost? Tell us in the comments, let’s talk it out!
