Happy Friday, everyone! What a week. You might have noticed some changes around here, as we upgrade and redesign our website. I’m so excited to present a more professional look as our blog and business continue to grow.
I think the best place to get some inspiration for how to be a great host is to look to others who are already kicking butt in this department. Today, we’re looking at an amazing penthouse in Seattle. This rental is located in a very walkable area, and comes with some killer views of the city. You might think the bones of this place sell itself (like, people would stay there pretty much no matter how it was decorated or what kind of host was running it) and while that is probably true, the host Chasten has still put in major sweat equity to make this place a truly 5 star experience, and his rent price (aka NOT cheap) and occupancy rate show the results of his hard work.
Some of things that caught my eye with this space is the clean, modern and thoughtful decor. You don’t want your “clean” or “minimalist” decor to spur thoughts of “sparse” or “plain”. You can still have a beautiful home without a lot of stuff weighing you down.
Another beautiful feature of this home are the photographs themselves on Airbnb. They are well lit, and taken from angles that make you feel as though you are in the space looking around. In today’s photo-centric world, there is no excuse for poor listing pictures! Even your phone can take a decent picture, as long as you use the editing tools to brighten things up. We’ll have many posts covering this topic in the near future, but in the meantime, just find some listings (like this one!) whose pics you love, and do your best to emulate their look.
The elements in this listing are eye catching, simple and sophisticated. The description of the rental also made it clear where it was located and the amenities you get – all really important in a professional listing.
